Coach Doll’s Biography
Coach Brian Doll currently finished his first year as head coach at Elk Grove High School. In his first year as head coach, the Grenadiers matched its win total of the past 4 seasons combined. Elk Grove High School reached the 2nd Round of the 2009 7A IHSA State Playoffs. This was the first time Elk Grove had reached the playoffs since 2004. Chicago Tribune sportswriter Tim O’Halloran nominated Coach Doll as a “Coach of the Year” candidate for the 2009 season. He currently works with the linebackers and coordinates the defense for the Grenadiers. He takes a lot of pride in the aggressive 3-4 scheme the Grenadiers run. Previous to coaching at Elk Grove, Coach Doll had spent 9 seasons at his Alma Mater New Trier High School. While at New Trier he took on the roles of Varsity Defensive Coordinator, and Sophomore Head Coach. . In 2008 at New Trier his defense broke a long-standing school record of 51 sacks in a season, and 17 sacks in a single game. Coach Doll is a graduate of Miami University.
